On July 30, 2023, The Namie Foundation officially launched during a ceremony at the GTHI hotel school in The Gambia. The foundation's mission is to promote education by providing innovative professional development for educators from Early Childhood Development to Grade Twelve. It also focuses on creating educational opportunities through sponsorship and exchange programs between educators in The Gambia and the United States. Chief Operating Officer, Fatou Susso Jobarteh, spoke about her personal inspiration and the foundation's commitment to making a positive societal impact by empowering both students and educators.

Notable guests, including Lawyer Ousainou A.N.M. Darboe and Alpha Bah from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, praised the foundation's alignment with national development goals and its potential to enhance the education system through partnerships. Chairman Alhassan Susso emphasized that the foundation aims to build upon the efforts of previous generations to reposition The Gambia’s education system.
