Lamin Jarjou

Gambia Teacher Prize Selection Committee Chairman

Lamin Jarjou is a dedicated educationist with extensive experience in teaching, teacher training, and program management. Currently with the Gambia National Commission for UNESCO, he has held key roles, including Head of the English Language Department at Gambia College.

Lamin holds a Higher Teachers Certificate and a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Development Studies and is pursuing a master’s in Educational Administration and Management at the University of The Gambia. A UNESCO Fellow, he has received international training in Education for International Understanding and Communication Studies.

Lamin’s passion lies in teacher development and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning. As Chairman of the Selection Committee for the Gambia Teacher Prize, he brings a wealth of expertise, a global perspective, and an unwavering commitment to recognizing and celebrating excellence in education.
